For kits, please specify the stain color (Light, Medium, Cherry, Mahogany, Ebony, or simply Oil Finish, which has no color of its own) and the chair tape colors. For finishing recommendations please refer to our Stains & Paints Color Chart.

Shipments originate from Ashburnham, Massachusetts. Shipping charges for destinations within the continental U.S. are stated in the table below. Payment
We welcome checks, money orders, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express). Checks are deposited and charges are processed upon receipt of your order.

Deliveries
We normally ship orders for kits and gift items within 3 working days from receipt of your order. We will notify you of any delay of over 10 days. If the item you are ordering will not fit in a mailbox please provide a street address.

Rush Service
Rush orders must be placed no later than Noon (Eastern Standard Time) Monday through Friday, for same-day shipping. We offer FedEx Overnight, 2-Day, and ExpressSaver delivery on in-stock items, at an additional charge. Please telephone us for details at (800) 840-9121.

Assembly and Finishing Service

To Order
Please specify the stain color (Light, Medium, Cherry, Mahogany, Ebony, or simply Oil Finish, which has no color of its own); the final finish (hand-rubbed oil and wax, or semi-gloss lacquer); the chair tape colors; and the weaving pattern. In 1" chair tape, the pattern must be checkerboard. In 5/8" tape, the pattern may be checkerboard, or herringbone for the catalog price. We also offer a variety of special weaving patterns which are shown in our gallery of Shaker chair tape weaving patterns. Special patterns cost 10.00 extra for each seat or back.

Shipping Charges
Shipping charges for destinations within the continental U.S. are shown in the table above. For delivery to other destinations worldwide, please contact us for shipping charges (service@shakerworkshops.com). You may pick up your order at our factory in Gardner, our warehouse in Ashburnham or our showroom in Arlington, to avoid shipping charges.

Additional Shipping Charges
Most assembled and finished furniture pieces are oversize and/or overweight and will require additional shipping charges. These charges are stated in parentheses next to the item price.

Important Note about Truck Shipments
When you receive your shipment, before signing for receipt of your order, it is your responsibility to inspect each carton for holes, dents, footprints, water stains, or any other signs that the carton may have been damaged during shipment. The trucking company will reject damage claims unless any signs of damage are noted in writing on the freight bill at the time of receipt. If you subsequently find "concealed" damage, you must telephone the trucking company immediately and insist on an inspection.

Payment
A 50% deposit is required with your order for assembled and finished furniture. We will charge your credit card or contact you for payment of the balance, when we are ready to ship.

Deliveries
Assembled and finished furniture is normally shipped within 4-6 weeks after receipt of your order. We will notify you of any delay beyond that time. If you need your order more quickly, please inquire with us (service@shakerworkshops.com). Deliveries are almost always made between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, the truck driver is not obliged to carry the boxes into your home or apartment. If you have any special delivery requirements, or live on an island, up a mountain, or in a gated community, etc., please mention it when the trucking company telephones. You are responsible for any extra freight charges. You may find it more convenient to have the shipment delivered to your workplace. In any case, you may want to have a friend or relative assist you. Many of our most popular assembled and finished furniture pieces are in stock and ready for immediate shipment. Sales Tax
We are required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to charge sales tax (6.25%) on all orders delivered to Massachusetts addresses and on all orders picked up at our showroom in Arlington, our warehouse in Ashburnham, or our workshop in Gardner. Any use taxes due in other jurisdictions are the responsibility of the purchaser or the purchaser's designee.

Gift Cards
When we ship gift orders, we will enclose, at no extra charge, a beautiful, Shaker note card - just tell us what you'd like for a message. Sorry, we do not gift wrap.

Name Exchanges
We occasionally exchange the names on our mailing list with other mail order catalogs whose products are similar in quality to ours. This helps us grow. However, if you do not want us to exchange you name, just mention this when you order.
