Shipping Information

Delivery Options

Our warehouse is located in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. For regular delivery, please allow seven to 10 business days from receipt of your order, depending on the destination. For delivery to other destinations worldwide, please contact us (service@shakerworkshops.com).

Orders for furniture kits and gifts are shipped by FedEx Ground or the U.S. Postal Service, and occasionally, by UPS Ground and common carriers (trucking companies). We will select the shipping company based on our experience with their speed of service and reliability. FedEx and UPS require a street address.

Orders for assembled and finished furniture are shipped by FedEx Ground, FedEx ExpressSaver, or Common Carriers. With common carriers, we will select one that has a terminal near your delivery address, if at all possible. FedEx and common carriers require a street address and a daytime telephone number.

If your order will be shipped by common carrier, we will advise you by telephone or e-mail.

Shipments originate from Ashburnham, Massachusetts. Shipping charges for destinations within the continental U.S. are stated in the table below. For delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, double the shipping charges. For delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, double the shipping charges. Sales Tax

We are required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to charge sales tax (6.25%) on all orders delivered to Massachusetts addresses and on all orders picked up at our showroom in Arlington, our warehouse in Ashburnham, or our workshop in Gardner. Any use taxes due in other jurisdictions are the responsibility of the purchaser or the purchaser's designee.

Additional Shipping Charges

Oversize, overlength, and/or overweight items require an additional shipping charge. This charge is levied by the shipping companies to cover the cost of extra handling that may be necessary and is listed on an item's detail page, if applicable. This charge is in addition to the regular shipping charge.

If your order has additional shipping charges, it will probably be delivered by a trucking company. The regular shipping charges and the additional shipping charges will cover all the regular freight charges. The trucking company will telephone you first before making a residential delivery.

Important Note about Truck Shipments

When you receive your shipment, before signing for receipt of your order, it is your responsibility to inspect each carton for holes, dents, footprints, water stains, or any other signs that the carton may have been damaged during shipment. The trucking company will reject damage claims unless any signs of damage are noted in writing on the freight bill at the time of receipt. If you subsequently find "concealed" damage, you must telephone the trucking company immediately and insist on an inspection.

Deliveries are almost always made between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, the truck driver is not obliged to carry the boxes into your home or apartment. If you have any special delivery requirements, or live on an island, up a mountain, or in a gated community, etc., please mention it when the trucking company telephones. You are responsible for any extra freight charges. You may find it more convenient to have the shipment delivered to your workplace. In any case, you may want to have a friend or relative assist you.

Rush Shipping Charges

Rush orders must be placed no later than Noon (Eastern Standard Time) Monday through Friday, for same-day shipping. We offer FedEx Overnight, 2-Day, and ExpressSaver delivery on in-stock items, at an additional charge. Please telephone us for details at 800.840.9121.
