SHAKER TRIPOD COAT STAND
This coat and bonnet stand appears to be unique, probably because of the Shakers' widespread use of pegs and pegboard in their buildings. Perhaps this stand was needed in the Trustees' office, where visitors from the World came to conduct their business with the Shakers. The simple tripod legs are similar to the earliest candle stands from the Mt. Lebanon, New York community. The original is in the collection of The Shaker Museum and Library in Old Chatham, New York. It will make a handsome addition to the hallway, mudroom, or bathroom. We make the Tripod Coat Stand in clear solid cherry. Height is 69 1/2". Base diameter 32".
Tripod Coat Stand is shown in Mahogany Stain with a low luster lacquer finish. It is in stock for immediate shipment.
