SHAKER SHOEMAKER'S CANDLESTAND
This unique candlestand was found in a long-closed cobbler's shop at the Mt. Lebanon, New York Shaker Community. It rested atop his bench and had on it two Shaker-made hogscraper candlesticks, similar to those shown in our photograph. For many years, it was in the collection of the pioneers of Shaker research, Faith and Edward Deming Andrews. We make the Shoemaker's Candlestand entirely of clear hard maple, with a threaded centerpost for adjusting the height of the platform. Height is 16 1/2". Base diameter is 6 1/2". Shown in Medium Stain with Lacquer Finish.
Available as an unfinished kit and a "made to order" finished piece.
Hogscraper Candlesticks are available separately. See link below.
