HANCOCK SHAKER BENCH
Long benches were particularly useful in Shaker dining rooms because they are so easy to move and convenient to store. Precisely cut interlocking "cross-lap joints" allow the curved "butterfly" supports to slip down tightly onto the legs. Benches of this design are are believed to have originated at the Hancock, Massachusetts Shaker community.
We make the Hancock Shaker Bench in solid hard maple throughout, a full 1" thick. The 6' version seats three comfortably. Height of seat is 17". Width is 10".
