SHAKER CREAMERY SHELVES
Broad-shelved milk pan and cheese racks were indispensable equipment in Shaker storage cellars and dairies. Even in these utilitarian settings, Shaker cabinetmakers created furniture not only of solid construction, but also of refined proportion. We have adapted a beautiful example from the Mt. Lebanon, New York Shaker community. The shelves are precisely dovetailed into the side panels and are then attached to the back braces. This means that the unit can be completely disassembled for moving, if necessary.
We make the Creamery Shelves entirely of solid, clear Eastern white pine. Height is 72". Width 36". Usable space on the individual shelves is 35" wide x 14 1/2" deep. Extra sections are sold below. Shown in Medium Stain with Lacquer Finish. Please select the stain of your choice (below).
