No. 5 Slat Back Shaker Side Chair with Shawl Rail - unassembled and unfinished kit
The Mt. Lebanon Shakers produced chairs that are turned, shaped, and sanded with a result which really cannot be equaled for quality. They are comfortable, too. The No. 5 size chair was designed as a dining chair. The gently curved back slats and overall proportions make them excellent for both residential and commercial settings.
We reproduce the No. 5 Shawl Back Shaker Side Chair in hard maple. Height of back is 40 3/4". Height of seat 17 1/2". Width 20 3/4". Depth 17 1/8".
Shown in medium stained maple with a hand-rubbed oil and wax finish; woven in 1" Black and 1" Olive Green Shaker chair tape in a herringbone pattern.
This item is an unassembled and unfinished kit. All physical components to make this as a project are included along with instructions, however, you will be required to provide the necessary sandpaper, glue, and finish--as well as be reasonably comfortable with your own skills to obtain a satisfactory result.
