Benches were particularly useful in Shaker dining rooms because they are so easy to move and convenient to store. Precisely cut interlocking "cross-lap joints" allow the curved "butterfly" supports to slip down tightly onto the legs. Benches of this design are are believed to have originated at the Hancock, Massachusetts Shaker community.

We make the Hancock Shaker Bench in hard maple throughout, a full 1" thick. The 6' version seats three comfortably. Height of seat is 17". Width is 10". Shown is the 4' version and the 6' version.

Shown with a hand-rubbed Oil and WaxFinish.

This item is an unassembled and unfinished kit. All physical components to make this as a project are included along with instructions, however, you will be required to provide the necessary sandpaper, glue, and finish--as well as be reasonably comfortable with your own skills to obtain a satisfactory result.

Before ordering, please review important information regarding lead times and shipping charges, as well as our returns and exchange policy.
