New Lebanon Shaker Candlestand - unassembled and unfinished kit
Our classic Shaker tripod stand, with arched or "spider" legs, was made at the New Lebanon, New York community circa 1830 - 1840. The arched legs are precisely dovetailed into the gracefully turned pedestal. The original is in the collection of Hancock Shaker Village in Massachusetts.
We make this Candlestand in solid clear cherry, like the original. Height is 25 1/2". Top diameter 18". Shown in oil & wax finish.
This item is an unassembled and unfinished kit. All physical components to make this as a project are included along with instructions, however, you will be required to provide the necessary sandpaper, glue, and finish--as well as be reasonably comfortable with your own skills to obtain a satisfactory result.
