Single Step Stool - unassembled and unfinished kit
The Shakers used step stools like this one, with its long steadying post, to give access to high drawers and shelves. Several of the two-step stools exist today in museums, but the one step design is quite a rarity. The front leg is dovetailed to the top and braced to the back to give it great rigidity. When not in use it can be hung on a wall peg or it can grace the corner of a room.
We make the Single Step Stool in solid clear cherry. Width 7 1/2". Depth 13". Height of step 9". Overall height 33". Shown in Oil & Wax Finish.
This item is an unassembled and unfinished kit. All physical components to make this as a project are included along with instructions, however, you will be required to provide the necessary sandpaper, glue, and finish--as well as be reasonably comfortable with your own skills to obtain a satisfactory result.
