No. 5 Cherry Shaker Rocker
At the 1876 Centennial Exhibition, the Shakers from the Mt. Lebanon, New York community were praised for combining in their chairs "strength, sprightliness, and modest beauty." The Mt. Lebanon Shakers were the first to design a line of chairs sized appropriately for those who were to use them. The No. 5 size is for average adults.
We make this Shaker Rocker from clear cherry. Height of back is 40 3/4". Height of seat 17 1/4". Overall width 20 3/4". Depth 17 1/8". Available in an aged cherry stain with satin lacquer finish (detail image).
Shown woven in 5/8" Black and 5/8" Olive/Black Stripe Shaker chair tape in a herringbone pattern.
