No. 5 Cherry Shaker Rocker - unassembled and unfinished kit
At the 1876 Centennial Exhibition, the Shakers from the Mt. Lebanon, New York community were praised for combining in their chairs "strength, sprightliness, and modest beauty." The Mt. Lebanon Shakers were the first to design a line of chairs sized appropriately for those who were to use them. The No. 5 size is for average adults.
We make this Shaker Rocker from clear cherry. Height of back is 40 3/4". Height of seat 17 14". Overall width 20 3/4". Depth 17 1/8".
Shown in an Oil and Wax Finish; woven in 5/8" Black and 5/8" Olive/Black Stripe Shaker chair tape in a herringbone pattern.
This item is an unassembled and unfinished kit. All physical components to make this as a project are included along with instructions, however, you will be required to provide the necessary sandpaper, glue, and finish--as well as be reasonably comfortable with your own skills to obtain a satisfactory result.
