Two Drawer Shaker Work Table - unassembled and unfinished kit
In 1839, as many as a dozen cabinetmakers were at work completing the interior of the Great Stone Dwelling at the Enfield, New Hampshire Shaker community. This distinctive work table could have been made by one of them. The nicely proportioned legs, carefully fitted drawers, and generous top are all typical of Enfield Shaker Brothers' craftsmanship. It will serve as a writing table or sofa table, for gloves in the front entry, or even as a small buffet in the dining room.
We make the Two Drawer Work Table in maple, with drawer interiors of pine. Mortise-and-tenon joinery on the legs and aprons, with dovetailed drawers. Drawers each measure 17 1/4" x 13 1/2" x 3 1/2" deep. Height to top of table is 30". Height to bottom edge of apron is 23 1/4". Top measures 50 3/4" x 20".
Shown in medium stain with a lacquer topcoat.
