Arched Writing Table - unassembled and unfinished kit
We have adapted an original ironing table found in a Shaker laundry to produce this handsome piece. The long and graceful arch is coincidentally almost identical to a tailor's ruler made at the Mt. Lebanon, New York Shaker community about 1850. Today, the table is perfectly suited for use as a computer or writing desk, a hall table, or a side table in the dining room.
We make the Arched Writing Table utilizing mortise-and-tenon joinery on the legs and aprons. Maple throughout. Height to top of table is 30". Top measures 50 3/4" wide x 20" deep.
Shown in medium stain with a lacquer topcoat.
This item is an unassembled and unfinished kit. All physical components to make this as a project are included along with instructions, however, you will be required to provide the necessary sandpaper, glue, and finish--as well as be reasonably comfortable with your own skills to obtain a satisfactory result.
