No. 5 Slat Back Shaker Arm Chair - unassembled and unfinished kit
The Shakers made many refinements during the 19th century to their chairs both in design and proportion because of their belief that the most simple things are the most beautiful. One of the advantages of purchasing our Shaker-style dining chairs is that the design and materials have been tested by time and found to be successful.
We reproduce the No. 5 Slat Back Shaker Arm Chair in hard maple. Height of back is 40 3/4". Height to top of arms 25 1/8". Height of seat 17 1/2". Width 20 3/4". Depth 17 1/8".
Shown in medium stained maple with a hand-rubbed oil and wax finish; woven in 1" Black and 1" Beige Shaker chair tape in a checkerboard pattern.
This item is an unassembled and unfinished kit. All physical components to make this as a project are included along with instructions, however, you will be required to provide the necessary sandpaper, glue, and finish--as well as be reasonably comfortable with your own skills to obtain a satisfactory result.
