This chair neatly exemplifies the Shaker's sense of practicality - it was designed with a low two-slat back so that it could be tucked under the table after mealtime. Its lightweight, sturdy construction and space-saving size make it perfect for use in the kitchen or dining room, next to the telephone, or in front of a dressing table. The original was made at the Mt. Lebanon, New York Shaker community about 1850.

We make the Low-Back Chair in hard maple. Height of back is 27". Height of seat 17". Width 18 3/4". Depth 14".

Shown assembled with a hand-rubbed oil and wax finish; woven in 1" Navy and 1" Natural Shaker chair tape in a checkerboard pattern.

This item is an unassembled and unfinished kit. All physical components to make this as a project are included along with instructions, however, you will be required to provide the necessary sandpaper, glue, and finish--as well as be reasonably comfortable with your own skills to obtain a satisfactory result.

Before ordering, please review important information regarding lead times and shipping charges, as well as our returns and exchange policy.
