Sage
Pine-like flavor with undertones of lemon and eucalyptus. Historically among the most important herbs grown by the early Shakers. Use to flavor sausages, pork, poultry, and cheeses. Use in stuffings for poultry and veal, and in sauces. Combine with parsley to temper its pungency. Also makes an excellent and healthful tea.
Sold in a 4-ounce tin canister with clear-view top, or in a resealable poly bag. Poly bags are perfectly sized to be refills for the tin canisters.
Since 1799, the Sabbathday Lake Shakers have cultivated, packaged, and sold to the public the most popular varieties of sweet herbs and medicinal teas. Following that same early tradition, today they offer a selection of gourmet culinary herbs, herbal blends, spices and herbal teas that represent their long and continuing heritage. Their herbs are grown in gardens more than 200 years old, dried in a facility built in 1845, and packaged in tin canisters just like those used by their forbearers throughout the 1800s.
We are proud to offer these products on behalf of the Shakers!
